Alexis Armstrong has been a paralegal with the firm for nearly 20 years. She has been an important member on the trial teams that have litigated some of the firm’s most complex cases. Alexis assists in all phases of litigation, from inception through discovery and trial. Alexis’s extensive experience, work ethic, and case management skills have been a vital contribution to the firm’s success.
Born in Charleston, SC, Alexis grew up as a military brat and lived in interesting places such as The Shetland Islands and Iceland. She came to Dothan, Alabama, when her father retired from military service. Alexis attended Troy State University–Dothan where she received her paralegal certificate in 1995.
When not working, Alexis enjoys spending time with her two teenage daughters, Auburn football, and warm weather.
As a paralegal with The Cochran Firm – Dothan, Tessie has more than fifteen years of experience in all aspects of plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation with a focus on products liability and mass tort litigation. She is compassionate and demonstrates an eagerness for helping others. Tessie regularly communicates with clients to assist in gathering and presenting information for the litigation process. With a strong work ethic, Tessie is dedicated to completing tasks at hand, paying close attention to details. She strives to provide the firm’s clients with prompt professional service, including notary public services.
Tessie loves spending time with her family and is known for being involved in helping and caring for others, both personally and professionally. Since 1996, she has actively participated as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and serves on the Board of Directors for The House of Ruth, a non-profit organization for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Lara Zander has been with the firm for nearly 10 years. She is an integral member of the trial teams that have litigated some of the firm’s most complex cases. Lara assists in all phases of litigation, from inception through discovery and trial. In addition to establishing case management protocols, Lara’s incisive and comprehensive approach to office management, case management, and trial preparation has proven to be a vital part of the firm’s success.
Lara has an accounting degree and a paralegal certificate. As the mother of four young children (plus, a Shih Tzu named Winston), her “free” time is spent tending to her family. She is a native of Dothan, Alabama, and continues to reside in Dothan.
Sherry Johnson has been a paralegal with The Cochran Firm – Dothan since 2006. She has been a driving force and an intricate working body in the personal injury, workers’ compensation and social security disability litigation. Sherry is always available to assist in all other phases of the firm’s most challenging cases.
Born in Huntsville, Alabama, Sherry grew up in Dothan, Alabama. She earned her bachelor degree in criminal justice/psychology from Troy University-Dothan. After relocating to New Orleans, Louisiana, Sherry continued her education by obtaining a paralegal certificate through Baton Rouge College. Sherry became part of the multi-faceted work forces of the State of Louisiana Attorney General Office for 8 years as the senior paralegal. After the Katrina devastation, she and her family moved back to Dothan, Alabama.
When not working, Sherry enjoys quality time with family and friends, singing, church and fishing.
Marie Stallworth has been a member of The Cochran Firm-Dothan team since July 2013. She has worked primarily in the areas of personal injury, family law, and litigation support in very complex cases litigated by the firm. She holds an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Jefferson Davis Community College and a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Columbia Southern University.
Married for nearly 25 years to a United States serviceman, she has lived abroad in places such as Germany, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. She came to the Wiregrass area in 2008 wherein her family was stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama. After retirement from military service, Enterprise, Alabama, is now her home.
Marie’s personal interests include spending time with family, trips to the beach, and mentoring a teen youth group at her church.
When you call The Cochran Firm – Dothan, you will likely speak with Amy Hatch, our intake coordinator. With the firm since 2013, Amy’s primary duty is to obtain relevant case information from potential clients and direct it to the appropriate attorney for review. As an integral part our multi-district litigation team, Amy assists clients with the initial screening and sign-up process.
A native Floridian, Amy was born in Hollywood but spent most of her life in Live Oak, Florida. Amy moved to Alabama in 2013 when her husband was transferred to Dothan with Publix. She attended Saint Leo University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree.
Amy is an avid Florida Gators fan. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, or hanging out at the pool or on the beach.
Nelly San Miguel
Nelly has been a member of The Cochran Firm – Dothan team since 2013, working her way from receptionist to paralegal. She recently joined our paralegal team and is excited about the opportunity to work on many of our multi-district litigation cases. Although she is the newest member of our team, her ability to handle a high volume of cases while maintaining a close working relationship with her clients has proven to be a great asset to our clients, as well as to our firm.
Nelly graduated from Headland High School in Headland, Alabama, in 2013, and continues her studies at Troy State University – Dothan. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
When Nelly is not working, she enjoys spending her time with family, friends, and school.
