Betty Cunningham operated her bait farm after her husband died in 1989. While making a delivery to southwest Alabama, Mrs. Cunningham and her friend, Virginia Schramm, were in a devastating accident. Mrs. Cunningham suffered severe injuries with numerous broken bones and had to be airlifted to University of South Alabama Medical Center. Later, she was transferred to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama, where she remained in the hospital for several more weeks. Farrest Taylor and Larry Givens, with The Cochran Firm Dothan, represented Mrs. Cunningham in her lawsuit. They were able to relieve the Cunningham family of all concerns regarding the legal complications of the accident and concentrate on the medical issues associated with Mrs. Cunningham’s many injuries.
